Product Overview
The GM Defense Infantry Squad Vehicle (ISV-9) uses 90% Commercial-Off-The-Shelf parts and Chevrolet Performance Parts to deliver adaptable, off-road capable, and highly maintainable military transport.
Built to keep the squad moving
When a squad needs to get farther, faster, mobility cannot depend on a long supply chain or specialized support footprint. The ISV-9 brings a proven commercial foundation into a lightweight military transport designed for difficult terrain, air mobility, and rapidly changing missions.
Its Chevrolet Colorado ZR2-based architecture pairs off-road capability with familiar parts and service knowledge. NASCAR-derived roll-cage expertise helps form a durable chrome-moly steel exoskeleton, while commercial availability supports a sustainment model built to keep the platform moving.
The same vehicle can shift from a nine-person troop carrier to casualty evacuation, heavy-weapons, or command-and-control roles through modular mission kits. That gives commanders a mobility platform that can evolve with the mission instead of requiring a different vehicle for every task.
- Move infantry quickly across off-road and undeveloped terrain.
- Reduce sustainment complexity with 90% commercial-off-the-shelf parts.
- Adapt the platform with kit-based mission configurations.
- Support safer mobility with rollover protection and electronic locking differentials.
- Deploy by air using CH-47 internal transport or UH-60 sling-load options.
Light enough to deploy. Flexible enough to adapt.

CH-47 transport and UH-60 sling-load capable
Vehicle weight
Approximately 5,000 lb
Modular roles
Troop carrier, CASEVAC, weapons, and C2
Prototype pace
Prototype developed in 18 weeks
Production pace
First vehicles targeted within 10 months of contract
Designed for external sling-load transport
ISV-9 envelope
207.1 in L × 81.75 in W × 75.0 in H; approximately 5,000 lb
UH-60L/M envelope
UH-60L/M cabin: 151 in L × 72 in W; door: 68 in W × 53.5 in H; cargo hook: up to 9,000 lb
The ISV is transported beneath the Black Hawk as an external sling load, not inside its cabin. Its approximately 5,000-lb curb weight is within the UH-60L/M's published 9,000-lb cargo-hook limit; final load approval depends on aircraft configuration, environmental conditions, and mission planning.

Built with racing-grade safety expertise
The ISV-9's chrome-moly steel roll-cage exoskeleton draws on NASCAR safety engineering. Hendrick Motorsports contributes roll-cage manufacturing expertise from Concord, North Carolina, bringing race-tested fabrication discipline to the vehicle's protective structure.
